Turkey Time

Turkey Time

For me, resin is fun to paint and sometimes I use it as a break from painting more complex projects. Sometimes I choose to paint it and do full shading and highlighting, other times I don’t do any shading and highlighting and sometimes I just add highlighting, like I did with this version of Mr. Turkey.

Here is what you will need:

DecoArt Americana
Honey Brown
Celery Green
Burnt Orange
Country Red
Lamp Black
Neutral Grey
Light Buttermilk
Extreme Sheen Metallic:
DecoArt Neons:
Fiery Red
Torrid Orange
Acrylic Sealer Finisher Gloss Spray
Papillon 4 Piece Highlighter Set
Papillon 10 Piece Resin Brush Set

Turkey – Honey Brown, highlight with Marigold
Pumpkin – Persimmon, highlight with Torrid Orange
Base and Hat – Lamp Black, highlight with Neutral Grey
Feet and Beak – Marigold
Waddle – Country Red, highlighted with Fiery Red
Hat Band – Light Buttermilk
Buckle – Bronze
Eyes – Light Buttermilk, center is Lamp Black
Tail Feathers – Celery Green, highlight with Lemonade; Burnt Orange, highlight with Jack-O-Lantern; Camel, highlight with Buttermilk

Tips for using the highlighter brushes: Choose the brush size that is appropriate for the area you want to highlight. scrub the paint into both sides of your brush, then scrub on a soft towel to remove excess paint. With a light touch, start scrubbing the brush over the areas you want to highlight, you can use a back and forth or circular motion. If you want your highlight brighter, go through the steps again. It is always good to start lighter with less paint.

Happy Fall and Happy Painting!
