Quick & Easy Acrylic Ornaments

Sometimes I get in the mood to create something fun, simple, and just plain crafty! Our round acrylic ornaments I just couldn’t wait to fill. They come in two pieces, which makes filling them easy…and they just snap together. I did use a little hot glue at the top and bottom once the ornaments were filled, just to make sure that they didn’t accidentally pop open.

All you will need are a few accessories:

I used one strand of each size of Canadian Pine and just twisted it into shapes to fit the space of each ornament. I trimmed off some berries and chose my jingle bell size…after that, it is just placing it into each side of the ornament and pressing them together. If your ornament doesn’t want to stay closed, I used a small piece of scotch tape to hold the pieces together until I had everything in the ornament that I wanted and was happy with. Then I added a small bead of glue at the top and bottom or the ornament and pressed them together. Keep the tape in place so the ornament won’t pop open while the glue sets. I then used some red rick rack from my stash and glued it around the seam, make sure to remove tape, before doing this. To finish it off, I added a small white ribbon bow to the top and added Baker’s Twine for the hanger. And you are done!

These are great for last minute gifts and the creative possibilities are endless…fill them with fake snow, flowers, ribbon, pinecones….or even use some acrylic paint with some DecoArt Paint Adhesion Medium (#84185) to create a festive design on them. Just let your creative juices go!

Happy Painting & Happy Holidays!
