Noah’s Ark and Wicker Bunny

Noah’s Ark and Wicker Bunny

Like many of you, I have projects lined up at home that I want to paint and need to paint. I love all of our resin, and couldn’t wait to paint our Noah’s Ark and Wicker Bunny. I chose to paint my ark Espresso with a Honey Brown roof for a slightly darker version. It wasn’t difficult to paint, but did take a little time and patience. I started with the characters and did all of their shading and highlighting before moving on to the ark and the roof. The wood portion of the ark I highlighted with Honey Brown and a touch of Mississippi Mud and didn’t worry about adding shadows due to the dark color I chose for the base coat. My youngest son loved it so much that he wanted it for his room, especially when he realized it lit up and changed colors.

The wicker bunny I just had to paint pink for Easter. Instead of painting the entire body, I just used my largest highlighter brush and scrubbed on Baby Pink lightly letting some of the white resin color to shine through. Any areas that got too much pink I just scrubbed on a little Snow White. It is so cute and looks great sitting out in my living room.

I have so many more projects to paint, that I need to get busy. After all I do have a bazaar in November to get ready for.
Happy Painting!

  1. Susan, I used Honey Brown for the Lions bodies, and Persimmon for the mane, the girraffes are Moon Yellow with Persimmon spots. I hope this helps.

  2. I love the colors you picked for this project. it looks so cute and your painting is great!

  3. Helen, I didn’t keep track of my colors used since this was a piece for my son, but I do remember some of the colors. The ark is painted with Espresso and scrubbed with Mississippi Mud and I think with Burnt Sienna (can’t remember on this one), the roof is Honey Brown, shaded with I believe Burnt Sienna and highlighted with Moon Yellow. Elephants and squirrels are Neutral Grey, girraffes are Moon Yellow spots are Persimmon. Lions are Honey Brown with Persimmon used for the mane. I think the pigs and Noah’s wife are done in Baby Pink and Antique Rose (shading on pigs, and the head dress). Noah’s head dress is Ultra Blue Deep and his robe I think was Baby Blue…I hope this helps.
    Thanks for your comment!
