I love painting for Halloween, and when I saw Sandra Malone’s new book Harvest Moon, I couldn’t wait to dive in and start painting. Although I am supposed to be painting for my Christmas bazaar that is the first weekend in November, I just had to squeeze in some fun Halloween projects that are just for me! I wanted to do something fun and simple, and in my stash I had some wooden moons that when finished attach to a wreath…perfect I thought and off I went to get Sandra’s book. Her silhouettes are fun and I knew I could create something fun and enjoyable. Using only three paint colors (Canyon Orange, Moon Yellow, and Lamp Black) and some DecoArt Glazing Medium, and a wooden bat cutout, I brought this project to life! It was so much fun to paint and came together quickly so that I didn’t feel like I was neglecting my holiday bazaar projects! I can’t wait to hang this on my front door, and I think I have another wood piece that the silhouettes would look great on too! But before I do another Halloween project for me, I need to paint some snowmen for my bazaar.
