I am itching to pick up my brushes and get going on a project that I had started, that is for me and only me. That UFO that is looming in my painting room/kids’ playroom, the surface that sat in my garage, oh for about 10 years, before I looked at it a few months ago and said, I am going to paint that, now! Well now started, then I ran out of a paint color, got the paint, and then life got crazy!
But now I am ready to get it finished, but of course I am currently deep into my youngest son’s 4th grade class auction project. The auction is this Saturday, April 16th and I am sewing and again painting for someone else, frantically, but loving every creative moment. I will say the projects are turning out great and should sell well, but all of this is making me long for the chance to paint for myself before I have to start painting for my craft show that is this fall. I am finishing sewing up a picnic table cloth that the 4th graders used fabric markers on to create adorable patriotic designs, and then I am painting a flag on top of the wooden picnic basket that will accompany it filled with wonderful patriotic dishes and fun picnic games. I will post some pictures once I have this done so you can see how everything turned out.
All in all, I am ready to paint, and once this school project is finished, watch out, I am going to finish that UFO, and then find something else wonderful to paint, I do have a garage full of stuff sitting there waiting for me, and a lot of great books by my favorite artists to dig through.
