Okay I admit it, the movie Iron Giant did inspire this sign I made for my son Tyler. As soon as I leafed through the book Stencil Me In I envisioned a sign using the city, the missile, and the robot stencil with Tyler’s first and middle name on either side. The robot (Iron Giant) would be flying to save the city (Portland) from the missile. If you couldn’t tell I love action movies.

Here are my 2 inspirations:

Okay so Tyler is only 2 right now so the sign might be more for me than him right now but in a year or so I think I’ll get cool Mom points for it. I am a beginner painter so I thought stencils would be a good way for me to dip my toe in the painting water and get some of the basics down before I tried free hand. I’ve gathered all my supplies together and set a time with my teacher (poor MaryJo!) so I’ll post later after I have gotten my paint brush wet!

Here is my supply list:
Door Crown
Stencil Me In book
Stencil Brushes
Alphabet Stencils Large & Small letters
Stencil Tape
Stencil Cleaner
